ABC has released the opening musical sequence from the first episode of the second season of the musical comedy, ‘Galavant,’ which you can find embedded below. The new season premieres January 3, 2016 with back-to-back episodes. The ten-episode series will run each Sunday night for five-consecutive weeks.

Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment has announced that the television event, The Lion Guard: Return of the Roar, will be available to own on DVD with digital copy on February 23, 2016 (now available for pre-order). The DVD will also include an exclusive talking backpack clip and a bonus feature of the music video of Beau Black performing the series’ theme, ‘Here comes the Lion Guard.’
The animated series “The Lion Guard” will premiere FRIDAY, JANUARY 15 (9:30 a.m., EST/PST) on Disney Channel and encore throughout the weekend on Disney Junior and Disney Channel. Its story – introduced last month in a Disney Channel movie which posted commanding ratings among Kids 2-5 and Total Viewers – continues the “The Lion King” epic. It follows the adventures of Kion, the second-born cub of Simba and Nala, and his diverse group of friends, each with a unique skill, as they unite to protect the Pride Lands.
As part of the network’s reality expansion, ABC Family has greenlit ‘The Letter’ to series. It was announced today by Karey Burke, executive vice president, Programming & Development. The series begins production in 2016 and comes from Sirens Media. ABC Family is becoming Freeform in January 2016.
‘Richard M. Sherman: Songs of a Lifetime,’ a showcase of the accomplished composer/lyricist, highlighting 60 years of popular songs, including those written with his late brother, Robert B. Sherman, will make its television debut on PBS SoCal, Thursday, December 17 at 7:00 pm PST. It is expected to run in other major markets as well, though dates have yet to be announced. The tribute is a one-hour studio performance with Sherman at the piano telling tales behind the music, singing songs and performing with friends: Broadway star Ashley Brown, acclaimed stage performers Juliana Hansen and Wesley Alfvin and The Barbershop Quartet (Jim Campbell, Jon Schoenherz, Drew Tablak and Wesley Alfvin ).
Disney Legend Dick Van Dyke, who portrays Bert, the carefree Cockney chimney sweep in Mary Poppins, will host interstitials throughout ABC’s broadcast of ‘The Wonderful World of Disney Presented by Target Brings You Mary Poppins,‘ premiering Saturday, December 12 at 8:00 pm ET/PT on the ABC Network and joined by Target’s mascot, ‘Bullseye.’ This holiday event marks the first network television broadcast of Mary Poppins in 13 years. It also will be the first time that Target’s Holiday Odyssey story – told through a series of broadcast commercials – will be shown in its entirety on TV.
On January 19, 2016, for the first time ever, Walt Disney’s first feature-length animated film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, will be available on Digital HD and Disney Movies Anywhere. Then on, February 2, Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment will launch the Walt Disney Signature Series beginning with the beloved classic (now available for pre-order).
