ABC Family (Freeform) Begins Production on ‘Famous In Love’ Drama with Bella Thorne

ABC Family (soon to be Freeform) has announced the cast of ‘Famous in Love,’ with production of the pilot from Warner Horizon Television beginning this week this week.

Based on the novel by Rebecca Serle, ‘Famous in Love’ stars Bella Thorne as Paige, an ordinary college student who gets her big break after auditioning for the starring role in a Hollywood blockbuster. She must now navigate her new star-studded life — and undeniable chemistry with her two co-leads — while uncovering the truth about what happened to a missing, famous popstar.

Freeform Orders ‘Dead of Summer’ Horror Series from ‘Once Upon A Time’ Creators

ABC Family (soon to be Freeform) has announced it has given a straight-to-series order for horror tale ‘Dead of Summer’ from the ‘Once Upon A Time’ creators Adam Horowitz & Edward Kitsis, along with ‘Once Upon a Time’ writer Ian Goldberg.

Set in the late 1980s, school is out for the summer, and a sun-drenched season of firsts beckons the counselors at Camp Clearwater, a seemingly idyllic Midwestern summer camp, including first loves, first kisses – and first kills. Clearwater’s dark, ancient mythology awakens, and what was supposed to be a summer of fun soon turns into one of unforgettable scares and evil at every turn. Part coming-of-age story, part supernatural horror story, “Dead of Summer” is a bold, new series that mixes genres as it examines the light and dark of a summer like no other.

ABC Announces 2015-2016 Midseason Date Premieres for New and Returning Shows

The ABC Television Network has announced midseason premiere dates for new series “Of Kings & Prophets,” “My Diet Is Better Than Yours,” “The Catch,” “The Family” and “The Real O’Neals.” Season premiere dates were also announced for returning favorites “The Bachelor,” “Beyond The Tank,” “Galavant” and “Marvel’s Agent Carter.” They will join the schedule with acclaimed series “American Crime,” previously announced to make its second-season premiere WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 6.

ABC’s ‘Madoff’ Two Night Event Starring Richard Dreyfuss and Blythe Danner to Premiere February 3-4

Get a look into the mind of the man who pulled off one of the greatest cons in history in the primetime miniseries ‘Madoff,’ airing February 3 & 4, 2016 at 8:00 pm ET/PT on the ABC Television Network. Academy Award-winning actor Richard Dreyfuss stars as Bernie Madoff, with Emmy and Tony Award-winning actress Blythe Danner as his wife, Ruth. ‘Madoff’ will follow the prodigious rise and abrupt demise of the former investment advisor and the subsequent fallout with his family, associates and investors.

Disney’s ABC Television Networks to Join PlayStation Vue Line-up

Disney and ESPN Media Networks and Sony Network Entertainment International LLC (SNEI) today announced an agreement to bring the company’s media networks to PlayStation™Vue, the pioneering cloud-based live TV service. Disney will offer ESPN, ABC-owned local stations, Disney Channel, ABC Family, and more networks on PlayStation Vue with the service’s unique features, including the ability to play multiple streams from one account and a powerful, intuitive user interface. In addition, local ABC affiliate stations will also have the opportunity to opt-in to the PlayStation Vue service with their live linear programming.

ABC Family 2015 ’25 Days of Christmas’ Schedule; ‘Shadowhunters’ Making-Of and Remastered Jim Henson Specials Spotlighted

ABC Family’s “25 Days of Christmas,” cable’s biggest programming event of the year, returns with 25 continuous days of holiday-themed entertainment for the whole family. From December 1 – 25, viewers can ring in the holidays with holiday specials, classic holiday movies, and returning favorites. ABC Family is becoming Freeform in January 2016.

This year, “25 Days of Christmas” will feature classic Jim Henson Christmas specials “The Bells of Fraggle Rock” and “Emmet Otter’s Jug-Band Christmas,” which have been remastered and are returning to television after several years. Additionally, December 13 features a marathon of Disney?Pixar’s “Toy Story” films. Also, the network will air “Beyond the Shadows: The Making of Shadowhunters,” which gives an inside look at the upcoming saga series.

ABC Family’s 2015 ‘Countdown to 25 Days of Christmas’ Event Features ‘Pretty Little Liars’ and ‘Young & Hungry’ Specials

ABC Family has announced the schedule of its annual ‘Countdown to 25 Days of Christmas’ television event, from November 22 through November 30, which this year coincides with the 20th anniversary of Pixar’s Toy Story. In addition, ABC Family will be airing two all-new original specials: ‘Pretty Little Liars: 5 Years Forward’ and an all-new ‘Young & Hungry’ holiday episode titled ‘Young & Christmas.’

ABC Family (Freeform) Announces Winter 2015-2016 Schedule for New and Returning Series

ABC Family (Freeform as of January 2016) has announced its winter premiere dates for new scripted drama ‘Recovery Road’ and fan favorites ‘The Fosters,’ ‘Young & Hungry,’ and ‘Baby Daddy.’ These series join previously announced January premieres for ‘Pretty Little Liars’ and ‘Shadowhunters.’

‘Walk the Prank’ Comedy Meta Series to Premiere in 2016 on Disney XD

Disney XD has ordered ‘Walk the Prank,’ a series that blends comedic storytelling with hidden camera reality pranks. The series was created by Adam Small of ‘Mad TV’ and the ‘Jamie Kennedy Experiment’ and Trevor Moore of ‘Whitest Kids U Know.’ ‘Walk the Prank’ will begin production in January and is scheduled to premiere in 2016.

Shot in a cinema verité style, the single-camera series follows a team of practical jokesters who create hilarious over-the-top pranks for an online hidden camera show.

The series stars newcomers Cody Veith as Chance, Bryce Gheisar as Herman, Jillian Shae Spaeder as Bailey, Brandon Severs as Dusty, and Tobie Windham as Will, Dusty’s uncle.
