Walt Disney Studios has provided us with these hi-res, first look images of Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie, as first premiered in Entertainment Weekly. A feature-length stop-motion remake of the original short film by Burton, Frankenweenie is a heartwarming tale about a boy and his dog. After unexpectedly losing his beloved dog Sparky, young Victor harnesses the power of science to bring his best friend back to life—with just a few minor adjustments. He tries to hide his home-sewn creation, but when Sparky gets out, Victor’s fellow students, teachers and the entire town all learn that getting a new “leash on life” can be monstrous.

Walt Disney Studios has confirmed to us the complete list of cast and their respective roles, for Tim Burton’s feature-length Frankenweenie, coming to theaters on October 5, 2012.

Disney Sets Dates for Burton’s ‘Frankweenie,’ Edgar Rice Burrough’s ‘John Carter of Mars’
Walt Disney Studios has announced release dates for two more of its upcoming pictures.
Frankenweenie, the 3D stop-motion, feature-length adaptation of Tim Burton’s short film of the same name (and found on The Nightmare Before Christmas DVD), is set for March 9, 2012. Although no official synopsis has yet been released, the dark comedy centers around a young boy named Victor who loses his dog in a car accident, only to bring him back to life a la Frankenstein. The short is often cited as the key reason for Burton’s initial departure as an employee of the Studios.

Video: ‘Creating Wonderland’ – A Behind the Scenes Look at ‘Alice in Wonderland’ Progressions
Earlier this week, Walt Disney Studios released this amazing video that shows a behind the scenes peek at the progressions used to mix live action with computer generated imagery to form some of the incredible sights found in Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland. Much of the live-action is filmed against a greenscreen using a technology called chroma key (most often used in television weather reports) in which everything that is green (such as the background, the frog standees and even some of the people) is removed automatically from the final product, allowing them to mix the images together seamlessly.
New Television Commercial for ‘Alice in Wonderland’
Walt Disney Studios has just begun airing a new television commercial for Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland. In addition to much of the footage previously released, the new tv ad shows a bit of footage from ‘the real world’ towards the beginning of the film in which Alice must face her fate shortly before spotting a well dressed rabbit.
