While the Clumsies all clamored over the arrival of Princess Tiana at Walt Disney World, a little pixie dust fairy flew in under the radar and made a home for himself at Pixie Hollow in the Disneyland Resort. CONTEST: Win a Copy of the ‘Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure’ Video Game for Nintendo DS
As the leaves continue to change color, Tinktober rages on and it’s time for another contest! This time, Disney Interactive Studios has graciously provided us with five copies of the upcoming Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure video game for the Nintendo DS.
In Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure, Tinker Bell’s greatest adventure yet takes place in Autumn, as the fairies are on the mainland changing the colors of the leaves, tending to pumpkin patches, and helping geese fly south for the winter. The rare Blue Moon will rise, and when its light passes through the magical Fall Scepter that Tinker Bell has been summoned to create, Pixie Hollow’s supply of pixie dust will be restored. But when Tinker Bell accidentally puts all of Pixie Hollow in jeopardy, she must venture out across the sea on a secret quest to set things right.
In the game, players have a choice of roles. They can create and customize up to five of their very own Fairies and help prepare for the Autumn Revelry by participating in a series of mini-games, quests and puzzles. Players can collect a variety of items, such as snowflakes, sunflower seeds and spider silk, to create clothing, accessories and items to decorate their home. Fans can also engage in exciting movie-based game play as Tinker Bell to find the lost treasure north of Never Land.
For the first time, players can upload an original customized Fairy avatar from the DS to the virtual world, where more than 16 million Fairies have been created to date. Once a Fairy has been uploaded from their DS game, players will gain access to an exclusive online quest, and when completed will unlock a special item both in the online world of Pixie Hollow and in the DS game.
Players can also transfer various gatherables collected in the DS game to PixieHollow.com, which can then be integrated into pre-existing online inventories. The link between the two platforms is further strengthened with the ability for fans to receive up-to-date news and polls from the online world on their DS. The synergy between the two platforms translates into a unique experience only Disney can provide to fans around the world.

Sneak Peek: Bonus Feature from ‘Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure’ Visits Walt Disney World
Not too long ago, we showed you how the original computer graphics (CG) models from the actual films helped produce the Toy Story Definitive Collection from Thinkway Toys. Today, we’re going to take a look at the same type of technology being used for an entirely different purpose: bringing Pixie Hollow to life at the 2009 Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival.
One of the bonus features you’ll find on both the Blu-ray and DVD editions of Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure (October 27, 2009) is a featurette titled Backstage Disney: Pixie Hollow Comes to Walt Disney World. Hosted by film director Klay Hall and producer Sean Lurie, the featurette talks about and shows the creation process of the Pixie Hollow garden, from concept to the dedication ceremony. We are pleased to bring you just a clip from the featurette (which clocks in at about 18m, 19s) in which topiary specialist Renee Worrell talks about the process of bringing the stars of the film to life in topiary form.

The game will launch in North America the same day as the all-new Blu-ray and DVD release from Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment and connects with the Disney Fairies Pixie Hollow (www.PixieHollow.com) virtual world from Disney Online in new ways. Disney Fairies: Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure follows last year’s successful debut of the Disney Fairies franchise on Nintendo DS.
