A new trailer for Disney’s Secret of the Wings has arrived on the mainland and it holds nothing back as it reveals Pixie Hollow’s greatest secret. When Tinker Bell pays a visit to the Winter Woods, she meets a fairy named Periwinkle whose wings sparkle just like Tink’s. And it’s small wonder why — Periwinkle and Tinker Bell are sisters!

For Tinker Bell and the other warm season fairies, the Winter Woods remains a mysterious and forbidden place. Secret of the Wings takes audiences on an amazing journey of discovery with Tink, into this forbidden world where she discovers a magical secret that changes her life forever.

As we reported earlier, Periwinkle will be joining Tinker Bell and the rest of the Pixie Hollow fairies at the Magic Kingdom and Disneyland later this year.

A magical fairy adventure for the whole family, Secret of the Wings features a spectacular voice cast including Academy Award®-Winner Anjelica Huston (TV’s ‘Smash’), Timothy Dalton (TV’s ‘Chuck’, The Living Daylights), Lucy Liu (TV’s ‘Southland’, Charlie’s Angels), Raven-Symoné (TV’s ‘That’s So Raven’), Megan Hilty (TV’s ‘Smash’), Pamela Adlon (TV’s ‘Californication’), Matt Lanter (TV’s ‘90210’), Debby Ryan (TV’s ‘Jesse’) and Mae Whitman (TV’s ‘Parenthood’), and introducing the sparkling new winter fairy, Periwinkle, voiced by Lucy Hale (TV’s ‘Pretty Little Liars’). A DisneyToon Studios production, the film is directed by Peggy Holmes, co-directed by Bobs Gannaway, and produced by Michael Wigert. John Lasseter serves as Executive Producer.

First Look Inside Mickey’s New Meet & Greet, Tiki Room Restored, Fairies’ Final Destination

NEW: TAKE A PHOTO TOUR INSIDE THE NEW TOWN SQUARE THEATRE MEET & GREET WITH MICKEY MOUSE BEFORE IT OPENS APRIL 1!

Magician Mickey's meet & greet at Magic Kingdom's Exposition HallScheduled to open beginning April 1, we have your first look inside the room for the FASTPASS-enabled Magician Mickey Mouse meet and greet at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. Tucked away inside Exposition Hall, Magician Mickey invites fans to meet him ‘backstage’ where he’ll have a few tricks of his own including interactive posters, more than likely in the same vein as the enchanted art found aboard the Disney Dream.

Magician Mickey's meet and greet space in Magic Kingdom's Exposition HallProvided by a friend of Stitch Kingdom, the photos show some of the heavy detail that has gone into the space which includes representation of the parks (the books are stacked to form the shape of Cinderella Castle, the Sorcerer’s Hat, Madame Leota’s crystal ball, etc., as well as port of call stickers from Hong Kong and Tokyo on Mickey’s trunk).

The new space in Exposition Hall will also be co-inhabited by the Disney Princesses who are currently meeting inside the Adventureland Veranda until the new space opens later this week. We are also told that following the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival, Tinker Bell and her fairy friends will be flying back to the Magic Kingdom and also be offering meet & greets in the new space. Initial plans called for Tink to be at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, but we hear John Lasseter was adamant about Tink remaining inside the Magic Kingdom, so there she will return. Tink was even scheduled to appear at Disney’s Hollywood Studios between the closure of Mickey’s Toontown Fair and the start of the Flower and Garden Festival, but she was immediately moved to Epcot early, skipping the Studios altogether.

Lastly, and music to your ears, we are certain, we have been sitting on reports that when it re-opens, the Enchanted Tiki Room will no longer be under new management and will instead be returned to its original glory. Perhaps even more gratifying to many, sources have told us that Iago will find himself relocated to an Audio Animatronics graveyard located at Disney’s Animal Kingdom where he will become fodder for Imagineers looking to hone their skills. The attraction currently has no known re-opening date, although it’s assumed to be July 1, 2011 at this time as the official site has it listed as closed through June 30.

UPDATE #1 – 3/29/11 – In regards to the fairies return to Magic Kingdom, it may have been stated in haste that they will join the others in Exposition Hall. Although it was reported to us that they will be returning to the Magic Kingdom, the details were a bit hazy. The likely new (and also likely temporary) home (which comes with some accredited validation) of Pixie Hollow is the Adventureland Veranda whose interior has remained dormant for the better part of several years save for hosting the Disney Princesses following the closure of Mickey’s Toontown Country Fair. This also places the fairies within spitting distance of their sworn nemeses: pirates.

Earlier today, Tinker Bell was the latest celebrity to receive her very own star on the prestigious Hollywood Walk of Fame in Hollywood, California and stars not only lined the streets, but walked them as well to help Tink celebrate. Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment has graciously provided us with these photos from the event. Guests included Walt Disney Imagineer and Disney Legend Alice Davis, Mae Whitman (voice of Tinker Bell), Raven Symone (voice of Iridessa), Pamela Adlon (voice of Vidia), Angela Bartys (voice of Fawn), Brad Raymond (director of Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue) and of course the Pixie Hollow fairies themselves.

Tinker Bell’s star joins those of fellow Disney Alums including: Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Winnie-the-Pooh, Snow White Kermit the Frog, Disneyland and Walt Disney himself. It’s located at 6834 Hollywood Boulevard, right in front of the Disney Soda Fountain & Studio Store where Disneyland’s and Pooh Bear’s stars can also be spotted.

Tinker Bell Joins U.S. Department of Energy Campaign to Educate Children on Energy Conservation

Tinker Bell in the Department of Energy and Ad Council Save Energy CampaignIn a nationwide effort to reduce energy consumption, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and The Advertising Council launched a new series of public service announcements (PSAs) designed to inspire today’s youth and their parents with ways to establish positive energy efficiency practices.

Energy use is on the rise around the world. By 2030, global energy demand is expected to increase 50 percent above 2005 levels, with electricity demand alone in the U.S. projected to rise 29 percent over the same period. Families can help reduce the demand, by using less and becoming more energy efficient. According to a national online survey of tweens ages 8-12 released by the Ad Council, 87 percent say that saving energy is important and 65 percent believe that saving energy on a daily basis is not hard.

Developed by The Walt Disney Studios, the new PSAs continue Disney’s commitment to inspire environmental stewardship in youth. The television, outdoor and web PSAs featuring Tinker Bell are designed to educate 8-10 year olds on how to save energy and feature scenes from Disney’s all-new movie Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue releasing on Blu-ray™ Combo Pack and DVD, September 21. The PSAs direct audiences to www.energy.gov/kids where they can find fun, simple tips on energy efficient behaviors and learn about new technological advances to reduce energy consumption in the home.

“We are pleased to expand our energy efficiency campaign with these new PSAs developed in collaboration with the Department of Energy and The Walt Disney Studios,” said Peggy Conlon, President & CEO of the Ad Council. “These new PSAs, featuring Tinker Bell, will provide children with simple energy saving tips and inspire families to take action so we can become less energy dependent.”
