If you’ve seen at least three advertisements on children’s television lately, you’ve no doubt seen the one for CuddleUppets by Jay@Play. For the uninitiated, CuddleUppets are precisely what the earworm of the jingle says — blankets with puppets. Children can wrap themselves up with the cuddly blanket portion of the CuddleUppets while manipulating the puppet portion with one hand. While potential film spoilers and the American International Toy Fair often go hand-in-hand, rare is the opportunity that we are able to actually photograph (with permission) new items that contain information not yet disclosed to the public. That said, yesterday we were able to do just that with some supporting merchandise for Disney/Pixar’s Monsters University, just ahead of the new trailer launch at 9 am ET and the full Toy Fair product launch with John Goodman and Billy Crystal which kicks off an hour later, at 10.
Just ahead of the 110th annual American International Toy Fair kick-off this Sunday, Disney Consumer Products has shared a sneak peek at just some of the toys coming later this year, representing some of its iconic properties. From Monsters University, Oz the Great and Powerful and Planes to ‘Sofia the First’ and ‘Jake and the Never Land Pirates’ to proven franchises such as Minnie Mouse, Disney Fairies and — of course — the princesses, these toys represent some a new take on classic play, often integrating cutting edge technology to enhance the experience.
Ahead of the 2013 American International Toy Fair in New York City, Hasbro has shared this first look at the first wave of their ‘Iron Assemblers’ collection of 3.75″ action figures in support of Marvel’s Iron Man 3.
Each figure in the series includes an Interchangeable Armor System, allowing for more than 25 possible combinations. In addition, each figure’s armor pieces are compatible with other figures, allowing for hundreds of combinations of customizable play.
There are 16 figures in the collection, with the first wave being released soon (see hi-res images below) including Iron Patriot, War Machine and the classic Gold/Red Iron Man suit. Each figure will retail for $9.99 each and is recommended for children ages 4 and up.
