The Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced its list of nominees for the 68th Annual Golden Globes this morning and Walt Disney Studios, Disney/Pixar and Disney-ABC Television Group (DATG) offered up a solid selection of nominations in films and television.
The heroes of Toy Story 3 have left the toy box. Woody and Buzz Lightyear meet arch-enemy Lotso the teddy bear on the Future World playground for the 18th Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival March 2 through May 15, 2011, at Walt Disney World Resort.
The popular Disney/Pixar characters hit the sandbox as seven- and eight-foot-tall topiaries at the Epcot front entrance flower bed featuring a sand castle, strawberry-scented field and playground toys. Created by Disney gardeners and topiary experts with bold strokes of seasonal color, the topiary display marks the first time that “Toy Story” characters have been featured at the festival. It’s also the first time in seven years that the front-entrance floral spectacle showcases all-new topiary characters, says festival horticulture manager Eric Darden.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced today that a total of fifteen animated features have been accepted to vie for Oscar for Animated Feature Film during the 83rd Annual Academy Awards. Amongst them are three entries from The Walt Disney Company: Tangled, Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue and Toy Story 3. Competing for the Animated Feature Film category does not preclude the film for entering Best Picture as long as the film satisfies the categories’ requirements for consideration.
On its official site to garner Oscar attention, Walt Disney Studios has recently begun to promote several of its films from 2010 including Alice in Wonderland, Toy Story 3 / Day & Night, Secretariat, Tangled and TRON: Legacy. Filled with behind-the-scenes photos, videos and more, there are also a few gems that have yet to have been formally introduced to the public at large which includes Daft’s Punk original score for TRON: Legacy, ‘I See The Light‘ performed by Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi from Disney’s Tangled and even the screenplay to Toy Story 3.

In anticipation of the November 2 release of Disney/Pixar’s Toy Story 3 on Disney Blu-ray/DVD/Digital Copy, Blu-ray/DVD Combo Pack, DVD and 10-disc trilogy set editions, Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment has released these two sneak peeks at just a couple of the many bonus features to be found along with the smash film.
The first is a clip from the accompanying short Day & Night. When Day, a sunny fellow, encounters Night, a stranger of distinctly darker moods, sparks fly! Day and Night are frightened and suspicious of each other at first, and quickly get off on the wrong foot. But as they discover each other’s unique qualities–and come to realize that each of them offers a different window onto the same world–the friendship helps both to gain a new perspective.
