I was invited to a press event late this afternoon in New York City at which Walt Disney Studios screened Tangled in its semi-current unfinished format as well as a 20+ minute compilation of various scenes from TRON: Legacy, not unlike those recently held in Burbank. The event was hosted by Studios production head Sean Bailey who opened the presentation by presenting a 30 second tv spot for Secretariat, reminding us all that the movie opens on Friday.

After we learned that Disney had registered the TRONUprising.com domain, we performed a wee bit of research and discovered some links between the new title and a previously announced animated project to debut on Disney XD in fall of 2011.
‘TRON: Uprising’ (as we assume) will be a 10-part ‘microseries’ in which a young program named Beck stands up against an evil regime headed by Clu who obtains his status after the defeat of TRON, the security watchdog program. Note that the show’s description comes from here.
The highly anticipated original motion picture score for TRON: Legacy, composed and produced by the iconic and critically acclaimed Grammy® Award–winning French duo Daft Punk, will be released by Walt Disney Records on Monday, November 22, 2010, just a day before the originally announced date by Stitch Kingdom back in July. Presented in Disney Digital 3D™, Walt Disney Pictures’ “TRON: Legacy” hits U.S. theaters on December 17, 2010, in Disney Digital 3D™ and IMAX® 3D.
Cast Members at the Disneyland Resort had the opportunity to meet with Duffy the Disney Bear before he assumes his official meet and greet duties later this year. The photo, provided by a cast member, affirms that Duffy will be appearing in full sailor regalia as he often appears at Tokyo DisneySea. According to WDW Character Hunt, Duffy will begin his appearances October 14 in Epcot. Although the date of his debut in the Paradise Pier area at Disney California Adventure is promised to be revealed to Annual Passholders attending Duffy’s preview event this weekend, sources indicate to us that there’s a good chance he may start along with ElecTRONica on October 8.
