Via its official blog, Disney Design Group has announced that Lin Shih’s Disneyland Resort A-E Ticket Vinylmation set, honoring the original ride ticketing system, will be released at D-Street in the Downtown Disney District at the Disneyland Resort on December 10. The edition will be limited to a size of 1955 sets (in honor of Disneyland’s opening year) and will retail for $99.95.
Many announcements on upcoming Vinylmation releases came via the official blog today with the first being what was promised yesterday: a look at the last of the four initial Vinylmation figures to be exclusive to the Disney Store Times Square in New York City when it opens on November 9.
The 9″ ‘Graffiti’ by artist Gerald Mendez will be a limited edition of 1540 pieces (1540 because that’s the street number of the store on Broadway) and will even be individually numbered. It will retail for $49.95 and have a purchase limit of two per guest per day (assuming it even makes it to day two).
Mickey Mouse isn’t the only Disney friend to enter the TRON grid anymore thanks to this first look at the sculpt of an upcoming MINDstyle adult toy collectible (ATC). Unfortunately the vinyl figure will be exclusive to the Man Is In The Forest concept store in Shanghai. The shop actually got its name from the film Bambi, although it’s said that the line itself was also used by Disney animators to spread word that Walt Disney was present at the Studios.
Just a day after previewing one of the first Disney Vinylmation figures to be exclusive to the Disney Store Times Square store in Manhattan when it opens on November 9, Disney Design Group returns with a look at this 9″ ‘Hey Taxi!’ figure by Jim Valeri. The figure, which will also be exclusive to the Times Square store, promises to have an equally intriguing back, according to the official blog. It will retail for $44.95 and there will be a purchase limit of two per guest per day.
Minnie Mouse has high apple pie in the eye hopes as the Disney Design Group reveals its first Disney Store Times Square exclusive via its official blog. It will retail for $12.95 and will be limited to a purchase of five per guest per day.
According to the article, the Statue is actually the first of multiple exclusives to the Disney Store located New York City which is slated to officially open on November 9. The largest Disney Store in North America, the Times Square location will contain an entire floor dedicated to merchandise exclusive to its location, presumably including these Vinylmation figures.
Disney Fine Artist Noah brings us this first look at his limited edition Disney Vinylmation inspired by Disney’s TRON: Legacy. The figures will be released at D Street on November 21 in the Downtown Disney Districts of both Walt Disney World and the Disneyland Resort. There will be 24 figures available for purchase at Disneyland, where Noah will be making a personal appearance and signing, and 12 at Walt Disney World. Each is custom painted and comes complete with a 22″ tall display case. Each figure will retail for $595. Other TRON-inspired merchandise by Noah such as tees and art will also be available to collect.
On October 29, Disney Vinylmation will release a followup to the Plane Crazy/Park Series 4 combo pack with a Sorcerer Mickey/Park Series 5 combo pack at D Street in the Downtown Disney Districts of both the Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts.
The 3″ Sorcerer Mickey figure was designed by Monty Maldovan and will be packaged with a random Park Series 5 Vinylmation in a blind box. As with its predecessor, it’s likely to retail for $24.99. You can read more about it on the official Vinylmation blog which has been previewing Park Series 5 and has today highlighted an upcoming 9″ limited edition (800) Halloween-inspired Holiday #2 figure by artist Lin Shih which will be released on October 22.
The Disney Design Group and Disney Store have released a full list of Disney Store locations that either currently sell or will sell Vinylmation products. According to the entry on the Vinylmation blog, all the stores listed will carry Vinylmation items by the end of September 2010, but not all stores will carry all available Vinylmation items. The blog also alludes to the fact that Disney Store will soon be offering its own Vinylmations exclusive to Disney Store, as we first revealed on Twitter when we were told about select stores selling Vinylmation at a Disney Consumer Products event back in June.
MINDstyle has been promoting Epic Mickey in a very vague way as of late and with the other merchandising for the game going on, particularly through Hot Topic, it’d be of little shock if MINDstyle were to produce vinyl adult toy collectibles (ATCs) in support of the game. In fact, it might even be more shocking if they weren’t (or at least Medicom which is producing the VCD of Mickey in the collector’s edition of the game).
Enter Animatronic Donald Duck. I’ll be honest, this may not be news, but this is the first time I’ve personally seen any form of these animatronic Disney characters since the initial concept art was leaked. According to the blog entry from MINDstyle:
On its official blog, Disney Vinylmation has offered up a preview of an upcoming series first mentioned at its recent Trade City, USA event.
Vinylmation Celebrations offers up multiple occasions to celebrate such as graduation and just saying thank you, as pictured to the left. Each 3″ figure (the larger ones shown) comes in an open-window box so you’ll be able to see which one you’re purchasing, but the accompanying Vinylmation Jr figure (the smaller ones shown) will not be visible within the package so you won’t know which one you’ll get until you purchase the set.
