In a move that’s hopefully a sign of really good things to come, D23 Members are now able to purchase this Medicom ‘TRON Mickey’ vinyl collectible that was previously available either only in Japan or through importers. Standing proud at 5″, the best news of all is that DisneyShopping.com is selling him for a price of $54.95 which is surprisingly lower than what any of the importers have charged for him. He’s already proven to be popular and quickly sold out of stock elsewhere, so grab him while you can here.
In conjunction with the grand opening of the new Disney D Street at the Disneyland Resort’s Downtown Disney on December 15, the Disney Design Group has announced that Disneyland Resort will begin selling both the 3″ editions of the Vinylmation Cutesters Series 1 and Urban Series 3 figures. Dates for the Walt Disney World releases have not yet been announced, but are expected to take place shortly after.
DDG has also announced that the artist release party for the series will be put off until January, when the Urban Series #3 9″ figures are released at both resorts.

Every day at the D23 Expo, from approximately 12 pm – 2 pm, attendees are treated to a look at upcoming Vinylmation releases. For Thursday – Saturday, this opportunity includes Vinylmation product developer Donald Ferro. Donald took some time out to show me some of the figures that have never been on display up until now, which you can see below. We also talked about new Vinylmation products such as the 3″ colored blank for those who prefer to begin with a non-white base canvas. Pictured below, the blanks will initially come in red, black, yellow, pink and purple colors with the potential to retire and/or introduce new colors along the way.

The series will be formally released and available throughout the Disney Parks on Thursday, September 10.
