Earlier this week, Vault 28, the Disney-branded contemporary fashion shop located in the Downtown Disney district of Disneyland launched its online shop via DisneyStore.com. Available at launch is the newly released Villains collection by Noah, the showpiece of which is the online-exclusive, made-to-order Maleficent 9″ Vinylmation, seen here.
On the exclusive Vinylmation figure, Maleficent is depicted in her guise as a fire-breathing dragon. Each piece is hand-painted and signed by the artist. The base coat is a blue-purple metallic flake with vivid lime green flames to accent Maleficent’s fiery attitude. While not limited to a specific production size due, the figure is available for a very limited time.
Maleficent also inspired a painting which is featured in a limited edition giclee as well as a women’s tee as are Cruelle de Vil (giclee / tee), Ursula (giclee / tee) and the Evil Queen (giclee / tee / long sleeve)
‘Villain by Noah’ Collection to Debut at Disneyland’s Vault 28, October 15
On October 15, Noah will debut his new Villain collection at Vault 28 in the Downtown Disney District at the Disneyland Resort. The collection is inspired by four of Disney’s greatest villains to date: Ursula the Sea Witch from The Little Mermaid, Cruella De Vil from 101 Dalmatians, the Evil Queen from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and the most feared of them all, Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty.
Noah’s portraits of the villains will be available as short-sleeve tshirts (including long sleeve for the Evil Queen) as well as a special limited edition tshirt created just for the event. An original painting by Noah inspired by the portraits will also be available for $7500 and as a limited edition (295 pieces), canvas wrapped giclee for $295.
Walt Disney World Anniversary Pin Release Information (and How to Get Into Magic Kingdom Early)
While the Magic Kingdom will open at 9 am for most folk on October 1st, 2011, for its 40th Anniversary extravaganza, the fortunate folk who managed to secure a pre-opening breakfast at Cinderella’s Royal Table and Crystal Palace will be happy to know that the privilege is also being extended to those who secure the right to purchase some of the many limited edition pins as well as the very limited number of Anniversary custom Vinylmation figures by Noah.
Disney Store Artist Signing Events Announced for New York, San Francisco; Stores to Open Early
On September 17, 2011, Disney Store will release three new city-exclusive vinylmation figures, for the New York Times Square, San Francisco Stockton Street and Chicago Michigan Avenue stores. In honor of the releases, the vinylmations’ respective artists, Oskar Mendez (Times Square, Michigan Avenue) and Enrique Pita (Stockton Street) will be making in-store appearances for signings in New York and San Francisco. For the special event, both stores will be opening early, at 8 am local time (the signings will run from 8 am – 11 am). Along with the event, the Disney/Pixar Cars 2 two-figure 3″ Vinylmation set will be available, two days before it becomes available to most Disney Store locations.
D23 Expo: Disney Store Anniversary Exclusives Sneak Peek
When the Disney D23 Expo comes to the Anaheim Convention Center from August 19-21, it will include a substantial presence by Disney Store, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2012 and it’s inviting all the D23 Expo attendees to join in the celebration a bit early with the opportunity to purchase items exclusively available at the Expo.
Below is a gallery of item as well as pricing and edition sizes (usually some multiple of 25) which is sure to offer something for everyone, as long as they love the color silver, and don’t mind shelling out a few bucks (anywhere from $19.95 – $2,000.00).
“it’s a small world” Vinylmation Jr. Series to Debut at D23 Expo
Earlier today, Disney Design Group Artist Thomas Scott tweeted out a pic of what appeared to be an unknown Vinylmation Jr. figure. Immediately, the entire vinylmation community was abuzz, wondering what they had just seen — well, most of the community anyway, as we correctly attributed it to the popular Fantasyland attraction.
This was later confirmed by Vinylmation on its official blog, on which it announces the complete series will be dedicated to “it’s a small world” and features an additional image of a tiger from the attraction. As with other Vinylmation Jr. series, it will consist of 20 figures, 18 of which will be known (sold in a blind pack) and 2 chasers. The series will be making its debut at the Disney D23 Expo in Anaheim, California, August 19-21.
Disney Store Announces Robots Vinylmation, Comic-Con Exclusives
The robots are coming! The robots are coming! Today, Disney Store announced the launch of its exclusive Vinylmation Robots series invading Disney Store locations nationwide and DisneyStore.com on Friday July 22nd. Designed by Disney Store artists who were inspired by vintage wind-up robot toys of the 1950s, the new Vinylmation Robots are also featured in a never-before-seen video on DisneyStore.com/vinylmation, youtube.com/disneyliving and on the 2,000 square-foot digital billboard above Disney Store in Times Square. To continue the vinyl craze, Disney Store also revealed its first limited edition Disney POP! Vinyl by Funko at San Diego’s Comic-Con. The POP! Vinyls are Funko’s creative take on Disney characters and the limited edition designs are on sale July 20 through July 24 only at Comic-Con.
First Look: Robots Vinylmation Series from Disney Store
This morning, I was awoken by an assault of doorbell rings, only to find there was no one at the door when I finally managed to drag myself down the stairs. After muttering a few choice words that don’t belong here, I noticed a small box at my feet, which I promptly picked up and examined. After determining that it wasn’t ticking, I noticed a bit of handwriting buried under a cake of dust. ‘Do not open until after Christmas,’ it read. Dejected, I slowly turned back around to return to bed with box in hand, counting the days left until I was allowed to open it. As I trudged back up the stairs, the box tilted, allowing more of the dust to spill to the floor, exposing the rest of the message: ’1958.’
‘Lion King’ Vinylmation Series to be Released in August at Disney Store
In addition to Robots, Villains #2 and Jingle Smells which we first shared in our 2011 Disney Store holiday preview, the official Vinylmation blog has revealed today that Disney Store will be offering a complete set of 3″ figures inspired by The Lion King on August 29.
The blog has shared artwork for the Mufasa figure, but has promised additional artwork and other reveals in the near future.
Vinylmation Cutesters Like You 9″, Ariel’s Undersea Adventure Merchandise Available Online
