From Walt Disney Animation Studios comes Moana, a sweeping, CG-animated comedy-adventure about a spirited teenager on an impossible mission to fulfill her ancestors’ quest. During her incredible journey, she teams up with her hero, the legendary demi-god Maui, to traverse the open ocean on an action-packed voyage, encountering enormous sea creatures, breathtaking underworlds and ancient folklore. Directed by the renowned filmmaking team of Ron Clements and John Musker, Moana arrives in theaters in late 2016.
If there is an emotion to be found in something, you can always count on Walt Disney Studios Japan to exploit it. In this case, they just published the Big Hero 6 music video for AI’s ‘Story,’ presented here in Japanese (if you want to hear the English version which has been released internationally, we have it here).
The music video, which features original animation, tells the message of the song as it applies to the film: when Hiro’s treasured relationship with older brother Tadashi is lost and he feels like he can never recover, he finds solace and a brand new relationship in Tadashi’s legacy, Baymax.
Last month, we told you about a limited edition bundle for Big Hero 6 which combines the Big Hero 6 soundtrack on CD (which is already available separately later this month — the digital release is already available), a 7″ vinyl single of Fall Out Boy’s ‘Immortals’ sporting the face of Baymax and an exclusive poster.
Today we have good news for those who aren’t married to the poster but want the 7″ vinyl — it too will be available a la carte. Amazon is now listing it for a December 16, 2014 release. Walt Disney Records has confirmed to us that it is the same vinyl that will be available in the limited edition bundle.

As per the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, twenty animated films have been submitted for consideration in the Animated Feature Category of the 87th Academy Awards. Among them are Big Hero 6 from Walt Disney Animation Studios and Tinker Bell and the Pirate Fairy and Planes: Fire and Rescue from Disney Toon Studios. Several of the films, however, have yet to complete their required
qualifying run in Los Angeles. Category rules dictate that at least eight eligible animated features must be theatrically released in Los Angeles County within the calendar year in order for the category to be activated, although that does not appear to be an issue at this point in time.
