Disney’s ‘Tangled’ 90-Second Spot: ‘Surprise’

French poster for Disney's TangledWalt Disney Studios has just released this following 90 second promo (guaranteed P!nk-free) for its upcoming release Tangled which stars the voice talents of Mandy Moore, Zachary Levi and Donna Murphy amongst others.

Walt Disney Pictures presents Tangled, an action-packed, swashbuckling, animated musical comedy about the girl behind 70 feet of magical, golden hair. A princess stolen from her parents’ castle as a baby, Rapunzel (Moore) is locked in a hidden tower longing for adventure. Now an imaginative and determined teenager, she takes off on a hilarious, hair-raising escapade with the help of a dashing bandit (Levi). With the secret of her royal heritage hanging in the balance and her captor in pursuit, Rapunzel and her cohort find adventure, heart, humor, and hair… lots of hair.

It appears that the title surprise in question, however, may end up to be a tad of a spoiler (albeit a minor one), so peruse at your own discretion. Or it could be the surprise is that this is the first time Rapunzel’s name is actually mentioned in an English clip (I think). If you’ve been following our other extensive coverage of Tangled, you’ll see a bit of new footage here. And if you haven’t (but WHY?), you’ll find quite a bit more new footage.

The legend breaks free nationwide November 24 in Disney Digital 3D.

Photo Gallery: Cast and Crew of Disney’s ‘Tangled’ at Studios Press Event, Plus Disney Parks Meet & Greet Characters

Earlier this month, we told you about a press event for Disney’s Tangled held at the Walt Disney Animation Studios in Burbank, California. Today, Walt Disney Animation Studios has provided us with some hi-res photos from the event featuring the cast and crew of the film, including the Disney Parks meet & greet versions of Rapunzel and Flynn Rider.

Having seen the photos in full detail and after learning some additional information, we believe our assertions that Rapunzel’s hair will be worked into the meet and greet scene were incorrect. Initially based on the original concept art released by Disney Parks, it would appear to be that case, but due to the following reason which would be considered a spoiler, we see that may have changed:

Of course all is subject to change since it hasn’t been mentioned explicitly that this is how they’ll be seen in the parks, but it’s a good chance this is how it will be.

In the mean time, please enjoy the following photos of directors Byron Howard and Nathan Greno, producer Ray Conli, John Lasseter, Alan Menken, Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi. And, of course, Rapunzel and Flynn Rider themselves.

On a very related note, we have been invited to attend a press event for Tangled and TRON: Legacy taking place in the upcoming weeks, so stay tuned!

Video: Disney’s ‘Tangled’ Full Length Trailer (Both UK and US Editions) – September 15, 2010

Walt Disney Studios UK has released the first official full-length trailer for Disney’s Tangled, the upcoming release from Walt Disney Animation Studios. Consisting of virtually all new footage, the far-more-serious trailer is narrated by Flynn Rider (Zachary Levi) who offers his point on the time he spends with Rapunzel (Mandy Moore) and introduces much of the storyline of the film, focusing on dreams (there are, of course, sub-points/plots to the film as well). The trailer also offers a brief appearance of Hookhand who is voiced by Brad Garrett.

The US trailer, which has been released through Moviefone is substantially different, but follows along the same lines. It also includes a quick look at Rapunzel as a baby when the King and Queen launch the first of the birthday lanterns:

Disney’s ‘Tangled’ Featurette Helps Rapunzel ‘See the Light’ with Mandy Moore, Zachary Levi

Birthday Lanterns in Disney's TangledDirectors Nathan Greno and Byron Howard are joined by Zachary Levi (Flynn Rider) and Mandy Moore (Rapunzel) in this ‘early look’ at Disney’s Tangled which popped up recently on YouTube.

Although there is just a smidge of new animation and quite a bit of concept art shown in the featurette, nothing too surprising has been revealed that those who aren’t already familiar with the story of Rapunzel couldn’t surmise (that and the poorly guarded secret that Rapunzel’s hair has magic properties). One interesting observation however is that of the birthday lanterns. Featured prominently in the original concept art released for the film as well as becoming the inspiration of a Christmas tree ornament from Disney Store, Mandy Moore briefly explains that they appear every year on Rapunzel’s birthday, but falls short of explaining anything further other than Rapunzel’s curiosity. Jakks Pacific will also soon be releasing a birthday lantern of their own (which we managed to get our hands on) for the film which plays an instrumental loop from a piece titled I See the Light.

Special thanks to Animatie.blog.nl for the tip.
