Disney XD has ordered a third season of the hit comedy series “Zeke and Luther.” The announcement was made today by Gary Marsh, president, Entertainment, and chief creative officer, Disney Channels Worldwide. New episodes of the buddy comedy about two best friends determined to achieve epic skateboarding status will begin production fall 2010 in and around southern California. Starring are popular teen actors Hutch Dano, Adam Hicks, Ryan Newman and Daniel Curtis Lee.
The stars of Disney XD’s hit comedy series “Zeke and Luther” — Hutch Dano (Zeke), Adam Hicks (Luther) and Daniel Curtis Lee (Kojo) — will greet fans at multiple AT&T retails stores across the U.S. beginning SATURDAY, JUNE 26. Each local event, hosted in conjunction with Disney XD, AT&T U-verse® TV and Radio Disney, the No.1 radio outlet for kids, tweens and families, will feature one or two of the young actors plus entertainment by the Radio Disney Road Crew. Fans can submit an entry card in a drawing box at the retail store for the chance to win an Xbox 360 to be given away every 20 minutes during the event at each store. On MONDAY, AUGUST 10 (7:00-9:30 p.m., ET/PT), Disney XD presents a high-flying evening on boards and bikes, including a new “Zeke and Luther” episode in which the skateboarding buddies finally go “pro,” and a half-hour “Next X” reality series special, hosted by professional BMX athletes Scotty Cranmer and Van Homan, that follows five amateur action sports athletes age 9-12 to the big-time at X Games 15. It will be available on DisneyXD.com immediately following the TV premiere. Also on Monday, August 10, the “Zeke and Luther” inspired “Zeke and Luther Dude Feud” debuts as a 15-webisode series at DisneyXD.com.
Disney XD will present a ‘Night of Premieres’ featuring new episodes of its top-rated series for kids and families, including “Aaron Stone,” guest-starring world champion wrestler Chris Jericho; “Phineas and Ferb,” featuring “High School Musical” star Corbin Bleu; plus the new comedy “Zeke and Luther,” MONDAY, JUNE 22 (7:00-9:30 p.m., ET/PT). “Zeke and Luther,” a quirky buddy comedy from Matt Dearborn and Tom Burkhard, the creative team behind the Emmy-nominated and BAFTA-winning Disney Channel series “Even Stevens,” will debut on television and online, MONDAY, JUNE 15 (8:30 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney XD and DisneyXD.com. Set against a sport that is a mainstay with boys age 6-14, the series delivers sharp yet heartfelt humor as it follows the adventures of two teenage best friends on a quest to become world famous skateboarders. It also introduces a talented young cast – Hutch Dano, Adam Hicks, Daniel Curtis Lee and Ryan Newman.
In “Zeke and Luther,” two fearless sidewalk surfers and best friends gear up and put their right foot forward to master the awesome art form of skateboarding (which is also their principle method of transportation). Along the way, they navigate the literal and figurative luge of teen years with all of its tricks, grinds, obstacles and occasional slams. Quick to challenge the boys’ claim to being the best skateboarders in the neighborhood is friend and foe Kojo, also 15. Kojo’s got a big attitude and a big mouth, and takes great pleasure in taking Zeke and Luther down a peg whenever he can. Another thorn in their side is Ginger, Zeke’s 12-year-old sister who finds her brother’s skateboarding dreams childish, to say the least.
